There’s been so much hype about MAC lipsticks for years now and after trying out a few for myself I can see why. They have different formulas to suit different tastes and the shade range is truly an impressive work of art. While I am a big fan of bold lipsticks, there are two shades that I have been trying out recently that really do tick all the boxes for me!
First up is the famous MAC Velvet Teddy, a nice muted pink-brown-beige shade; a peachy-terracotta brown! I find Velvet Teddy’s matte formula to be a bit more forgiving on the lips compared to some of the other MAC matte lipsticks, like Ruby Woo. Velvet Teddy is very creamy which I find makes it easy to apply it straight from the bullet and you don’t necessarily need a lip liner. I have a medium skin tone, so for me this lipstick is a true nude colour, and I like to pair this with the soar lip liner if I’m after more of a grungier look! All in all, this lipstick has quickly become a solid favourite and one I would recommend you try out if you haven’t already.
Next up is a satin lipstick in the shade Retro and boy oh boy, I have had to stop myself from slapping this onto my face every day for the past few weeks! For medium to deeper skin tones this lipstick is a beautiful pinky-brown shade and its satin formula means its ever so comfortable to wear on the lips and pretty darn moisturizing too! I like to wear it dabbed onto the lips for a quick wash of colour or layered on to make it bold. If you’re thinking about trying out some MAC lipsticks for yourself, I would direct you to these two, while other lipsticks like MAC Mehr and Whirl are also lovely entry level mauve and pinky-brown shades to add to your makeup bags! Happy shopping!
