Going home on weekends means I get to raid my mum’s vanity and find all sorts of gems! That woman’s got skincare routines down to a t, and that is how I know that if I try a product she’s using, chances are I’ll fall in love with it too. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that once I tried the Estee Lauder Gentle Eye Makeup Remover I was blown away with how good it was. So I thought I would write a post sharing my first impressions and maybe you’ll be inclined to try it out for yourself and get rid of all that pesky makeup, without scrubbing your eyes sore.
I found that this was a gentle and lightweight formula that worked insanely quickly and gently to remove all my eye-makeup. When I first tried this, I was wearing eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara, the whole nine yards and I was so incredibly impressed with how much of my makeup came off with one swipe of a cotton pad with a little bit of the remover on it. It swiped away lightly and did not leave any oily residue behind, which is definitely good in my books! This is also good if you want to clean your eyes in order to reapply makeup immediately afterwards.
It’s gentle formula ensures that it is friendly to sensitive eyes. I myself am a contact lens wearer and while I wouldn’t recommend you keep your lenses in while using makeup-remover, I did not notice any kind of irritation to my eyes. Despite the gentle solution I can say that when I used this product on myself, it was very effective in removing almost all of my eye makeup, even waterproof products. It’s oil-free formula also makes sure that it will not cause any damage to your skin.
I would recommend you wet a cotton pad with the product and then sweep over your closed eye-lid. Wait for a few seconds, then wipe gently downward to remove all eye-makeup. Go back and repeat if you still have residue, and repeat for your lower lash-line as well. Remember not to sleep with your makeup on, as a clean skin is a healthy skin! (I have to admit though I have sometimes succumbed to laziness and gone to bed with my makeup on! Doesn’t mean you should 😉 ).
